Union-News: 13 March - UNISON strike campaign begins against NHS pension cuts in Scotland

From Union-News: 13th March 2012, 6.59 GMT

UNISON Scotland this morning opens a second wave of industrial action on NHS pensions.

A series of selective strikes are planned across the health service north of the border, designed to increase pressure on the government for Scottish negotiations on all aspects of the government’s pensions changes.

UNISON says the proposed ‘Year 1′ increases to employee contributions of up to 2.4% – which are due to take effect from 1st April – are effectively a pensions tax on health workers.
